PERFUME & POEMS:
INSIDE THE WORLD OF FLORAÏKU PARIS
Have you ever seen Japanese poetry and perfume woven together? Meet Floraïku Paris, a perfume house that blends Asian culture with French fragrance creation through scented rituals and artistry. And it all begins with the haiku.
A haiku is a short poem made of three vertical verses. These verses celebrate small, meaningful moments such as a sunrise, the arrival of spring, or the spark of new love. This is why haiku sits at the heart of Floraïku Paris. The poems echo the enchantment of nature and the rituals it inspires, from tea ceremonies to incense and flowers. More on that soon.
Fr-Asian Roots
Floraïku was founded in 2017 after a journey to Japan by Clara and John Molloy. They were deeply moved by the country’s delicate and respectful relationship with nature, a sensibility present in Japanese art and literature. Clara, a poet from Paris with a love for words, and John, an Irish globetrotter with a curious eye for culture, combined their fascinations to create Floraïku: a brand rooted in Asian traditions with a distinctly French olfactory twist.

Floraïku, Dissected
The name Floraïku merges “flora” and “haiku,” a tribute to nature and its beauty. The fragrances are built around short formulas, mirroring the concise structure of haiku, and composed with precious natural ingredients that honour the flora.
The brand’s aesthetic draws from Japanese minimalism while remaining warm and expressive. Floraïku’s storytelling is gentle and immersive, and creativity appears in every detail. The travel cases resemble miniature artworks. The haiku printed on each bottle adds a layer of meaning. The illustrations bring the scents to life. Everything is designed to make the experience thoughtful and intimate. Floraïku invites you to slow down, breathe and enjoy the ritual of wearing perfume. This artistic vision is one of the reasons the brand has become a standout name in niche perfumery.
Opening a Floraïku fragrance feels like opening a bento box. On the left, you find Japanese‑inspired illustrations in the brand’s colours: white, deep blue and orange. On the right, hidden compartments reveal the tools you need to transform the bottle.
The first thing that catches your eye is the cap. It is large, colourful and decorated with Japanese artwork. But it also serves a second purpose. When you remove it, you discover an empty space perfectly shaped for the travel spray stored beneath the bottle. Place the travel spray inside, add the gold cap and you have a portable, artistic travel case for your favourite scent. A beautiful companion to take with you wherever you go.
Shaped by Ceremonies
Floraïku’s universe is built around six collections. Three of them are special collections: the Exclusivities, available only in selected boutiques; Editions 3776, two creations inspired by Mount Fuji and crafted with rare ingredients; and Shadowing™, two fragrances designed to layer with any Floraïku scent to create your own signature.
The other three form the main collections, or so‑called ceremonies, each with its own distinct world linked to Asian culture. These ceremonies are the heart of the Floraïku experience. Discover them below.
Your Scented Bento Box
One of Japan’s most iconic items is the bento box. This single‑portion lunch box keeps different foods neatly separated in small compartments. Inspired by this idea, Floraïku created its signature packaging, one of the brand’s most understated yet distinctive elements.

Ô Cha: Secret Teas and Spices
Inspired by the Japanese tea ceremony, from the invitation to the preparation and tasting. In the fragrance collection, this ritual becomes an olfactory experience with scents that reinterpret teas through spices and warmth.
Take Gong as an example. Its subtly sweet Dorayaki accord is inspired by the small filled cake enjoyed at teatime, and by its round shape that resembles the gong. A fragrant wink to Japanese teatime traditions. Teatime, anyone?

Ikebana: Enigmatic Flowers
This collection draws inspiration from Ikebana, the refined art of arranging flowers. It is about composing with branches, petals, and even shadows, revealing the delicate and sensual aspects of nature.
Take Flying South, for example, a fresh and radiant composition built around Makuwa melon and hibiscus. It has a gentle sweetness that stays light and airy, perfect for warm days and long summer evenings.

Kōdō: Forbidden Incense
These creations pay tribute to incense and burning wood essences, from the moment of combustion to the beauty of an incense scroll. They evoke temples, smoke and stillness, with a gentle touch of mystery.
My Love Has The Colour Of The Night brings this ceremony to life with a tender blend of smoky guaiac wood, vetiver, and patchouli. It feels like a warm summer night: calm, enveloping, and intriguing.
