NAPOLEON:
A LEGACY IN EVERY DROP

With three generations under the belt, Napoleon has earned its legacy in luxury perfumery with an artisanal touch of craftsmanship. Now, as the brand celebrates its 50th anniversary, Napoleon is stepping into the spotlight with the public debut of a fragrance that was once reserved for the world’s elite: Daniel by Napoleon.

FAMILY, CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND A FRAGRANCE 40 YEARS IN THE MAKING

Founded in 1975 by Daniel Yerushalmi, Napoleon began not in fragrance, but in fashion. Known as one of America’s most elite menswear houses, with flagship boutiques on Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue, and Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, the brand became synonymous with luxury, elegance, exclusivity, and the art of fine tailoring.

But behind the seams and silk linings, a deeper vision was taking shape. Daniel believed a true gentleman’s presentation wasn’t complete without a signature scent – one that would reflect his refined style and command presence. In 1983, after four years of careful development, Napoleon introduced its first fragrance, capturing the Italian countryside: the original Napoleon Classic Cologne by Daniel.

FROM PRIVATE CIRCLES TO THE PUBLIC EYE

The fragrance quietly turned heads and turned into an instant classic. For over 40 years, it was available only to a select inner circle – no marketing, no shelf placement, no trend-chasing. Just a quiet reverence shared among those who knew, a well-kept secret between a selective circle of customers of the flagship boutiques – including the richest man in the world.

But in 2024, to mark the brand’s 50th anniversary and the 42nd anniversary of its flacon, the Yerushalmi family made a pivotal decision: to finally open that circle.

“Releasing ‘Daniel by Napoleon’ to the public was deeply meaningful,” explains Yaniv Yerushalmi, Creative Officer and grandson of the founder. “It’s a way to honour our heritage while inviting new generations into the experience of true craftsmanship.”

DANIEL BY NAPOLEON: THE FRAGRANCE OF LEGACY

Now reimagined for a new generation, Daniel by Napoleon is a celebration of that legacy. It honours Daniel Yerushalmi’s original vision while embracing a modern olfactory identity. Crafted in Italy and refined over decades, the new Daniel fragrance opens with vibrant bergamot, lemon, and litsea cubeba. Later, it unfolds into a warm scent of clove, elemi, ginger, and nutmeg, before it settles into a grounding base of cedar, moss, musk, and sandalwood.

It’s bold and addictive, fresh yet timeless. A scent worn by those who appreciate depth, history, and the subtle power of elegance – with over 40 years of Italian craftsmanship in every drop.

“The continued success of the fragrance Daniel is the best way to honour my grandfather’s legacy – what he accomplished in the fashion industry as a true pioneer of high-end menswear and fine fragrance is something we deeply cherish.”

– YANIV YERUSHALMI,
CREATIVE OFFICER AND GRANDSON OF NAPOLEON’S FOUNDER

LOOKING AHEAD: WHAT’S NEXT FOR NAPOLEON

Even though two new generations are now guiding the brand, Napoleon remains grounded in its founding principles: excellence, integrity, and restraint. In a world of constant new releases, Napoleon holds fast to the belief that timelessness is the ultimate luxury.

“At Napoleon, we take pride in being a niche and artisanal fragrance brand that values quality above all else,” says Yaniv. “We’re not in the business of rushing to release new fragrances just to follow trends. We let each creation evolve naturally, reflecting the timeless essence of our brand.”

As the brand looks to the future, whispers of a new scent – one crafted to sit alongside Daniel as a modern classic – are already stirring. But as always with Napoleon, nothing will be revealed before its time!
